Reservations
What exactly am I paying £10 for?
A priority reservation — your place in the queue for your postcode area. It is fully refundable at any time and credited in full toward your purchase if you go ahead. It is not a purchase and not a confirmed delivery or installation: we only ask you to commit once stock, final pricing and (for installations) a certified partner for your area are confirmed.
Why charge anything at all?
Free waiting lists are full of maybes. A small refundable commitment shows us where real demand is, which decides where we launch first — so priority customers get genuinely faster service. If we don't launch in your area, or you simply change your mind, your £10 comes straight back.
How do I get my £10 back?
Sign in to your account, open your reservation and choose Request refund. We action refunds within one working day; your bank typically shows the money within 5–10 working days. No forms, no questions, no fees.
Is this a subscription? Will you charge me again?
No. The £10 is a one-off payment. We never store your card details ourselves and we will never charge you again without you explicitly checking out for a real order.
Can I register without paying?
Yes — choose register interest in the same form. You'll still count toward demand in your area and hear about availability; paid reservations simply sit ahead of free registrations in the queue.
Payments
How is my payment handled?
Payments are processed by Stripe, a leading PCI-DSS Level 1 payment provider. Your card details go directly to Stripe — they never touch our servers. Receipts come from Stripe automatically, and refunds return to your original payment method.
Do you store my card details?
No. We store only the payment reference Stripe gives us so we can process your refund.
General
Is Coolhaven already delivering and installing?
Not yet — we're honest about this. We're validating demand across the UK right now, and reservations decide our first launch areas. That's exactly why the reservation is refundable: you're early, and being early should cost nothing if plans change.
Which areas will launch first?
Our planned first zones are Greater London, Manchester and Birmingham, expanding by demand. Check your postcode on the coverage page — it shows the honest status for your area: planned delivery zone, installation partners, or register-interest.
Who is behind Coolhaven?
Coolhaven is a UK-focused climate-comfort venture currently in its pre-launch phase, run by a small team with sourcing partnerships in Asia and installer partnerships forming across the UK. We're deliberately building in the open — what you see on this site is our real status.
What happens to my data?
We collect only what the service needs, we never sell it, and marketing email is strictly opt-in with one-click unsubscribe. Full details in our privacy notice.
Delivery
How fast will portable AC delivery be?
Our launch target for planned delivery zones is next-day or chosen-day delivery of pre-configured portable units. Exact promises depend on confirmed depot locations — we'll publish real delivery windows per area before anyone pays for a unit.
What will a portable unit cost?
Guide ranges are on our pricing page: decent portable units typically land between £300 and £700 depending on room size, with our target range £349–£649 including delivery. Final prices are confirmed before you commit — your £10 is credited whatever you choose.
Can I return a unit if it's not right?
Yes. UK consumer law gives you 14 days to change your mind on distance purchases, and we plan a fair returns process on top of that. Returns policy specifics will be confirmed alongside launch pricing — and they'll be published before you're asked to buy anything.
Installation
Who installs split systems?
Installation is carried out by F-Gas certified UK engineers — a legal requirement for systems containing refrigerant. Every Coolhaven installation partner is vetted for certification and insurance, and every installation includes a proper survey first.
Do I need permission to install AC?
Sometimes. Most houses can fit a split system under permitted development, but flats, leaseholds, listed buildings and conservation areas usually need freeholder or planning consent. Renters need the landlord's written permission. Our survey stage checks this before any work is booked — see our installation guide.
What warranty will installed systems have?
Launch target: minimum 3-year manufacturer warranty on hardware plus workmanship guarantees from the installing partner, confirmed in writing per order. Details will be published on the warranty page before any installation is sold.
Business
Do you handle multi-site or commercial cooling?
Yes — that's a core launch focus. Offices, hospitality, care settings and landlords with multiple properties can reserve priority and we'll scope requirements per site. For care homes and other vulnerable-resident settings we prioritise accordingly. Start on the business page.
I'm a landlord — can I cool several properties?
Absolutely. One reservation can cover multiple properties; tell us how many in the form and we'll follow up per-property. Portable units are often the pragmatic answer for tenanted homes; we'll advise honestly where installation makes more sense.
